The main race of the day is one of Scotland's most historic road races - the 'Tom Scott Memorial 10 Mile'.  This race incorporates the Scottish 10M Championships and West District & SVHC Road Race Championships.  This year will be the 53rd Tom Scott Memorial Race and will see it return to the pathways of Strathclyde Country Park.  The event is one of the major fixtures in the Scottish Road Race Calender and attracts entries from all over the country. The popularity of this event has been further enhanced by the Scottish Road Race Commission who have, once again, upgraded this "Historic Race" to Scottish Championship status. Both the West District & Scottish "Vet" Harriers 10 mile Championship Races will also be held within the main race. It is therefore anticipated that with all three titles to be won that a large turnout of competitors will once again make their way to the startline. Runners are therefore being encouraged to enter early.  Please note that the minimum age for the 10 Mile race is 17 years of age on the day of the event.

The 'Round the Loch 6K' (3.75 miles) is ideal for runners and joggers who feel that a 10 mile championship race is not for them.  The Round the Loch race is once again being incorporated within the main Tom Scott Memorial event. Since its inception in 2006 this race has grown in popularity and would now appear to becoming a permanent feature in the Scottish Road Racing calendar.  One of the main aims of this race is to encourage "younger" runners to get an early taste of Road Racing. Prizes will be awarded to the first under 20 and under 17 male and female finishers. Note that the minimum age for this race is 14 years of age on the day of the event.

The races will take place on Sunday 5th April 2015 at 10:00am, starting and finishing near the Watersports Centre at Strathclyde Country Park

Run on an almost traffic free route, runners will experience a fast winding course around Strathclyde Loch, perfect for setting fast times with PBs a distinct possibility!

Registration will take place at the Water Sports Centre between 8:45 & 9:30. Changing facilities and showers are available & are included in the entry fee. Catering & free car parking are also available at the Water Sports Centre. Note that no entries will be taken on the day and both races are strictly pre-entry only.
